I started my business when my children were very young ( 7 years & 1 year old ) so they would have children to play with during the day & I could be home when the oldest came home from school. I planned on running my daycare till my youngest was old enough to go to school but decided when the time came to keep it open. I found that I loved take care & working with children and still do after 29 years.
I have a basic structure for them which allows free play, crafts, projects, outdoor play, social & emotional skills, walks in the neighborhood, reading, drama play, dress up, free style creativity with playdough, painting, drawing, etc. We also have music time & story time. Activities are modified for each age group. We also work with numbers, letters, shapes, etc on a daily basis. I have had many children that stay with my program until they enter kindergarten and have received a lot of positive feedback stating they were all well prepared academically & socially.
I keep up to date on training classes, CPR & 1st AID, & networking. I am also signed on with Provider Resources Inc. Food program in compliance with the U.S. Department of Agriculture policy to provide nutritious meals and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, age, handicap, religion, or national origin.
